Vision of Alumni

To engage the Vivekanandha College of Nursing global community to support and advance the college’s excellence.

Mission of Alumni

The Vivekanandha College of Nursing Alumni Association fosters a lifelong spirit of belonging and pride by connecting alumni, students, and friends to the Vivekanandha College of Education and each other. The Alumni Association advocates for the college and its alumni with a credible, independent and collaborative voice.

Aims

To promote and foster mutually beneficial interaction between the Alumni and the present students of the VCON and between the Alumni themselves.
To encourage the formation of Chapters as a means to increase participation of Alumni.
To enable the alumni to participate in activities that would contribute to the general development of the college.
To arrange and collect funds for the development of the college.
To encourage the Alumni to take an active and abiding interest in the work and progress of the Institute so as to contribute towards enhancement of the social utility of their Alma Mater.
To organize and establish scholarship funds to help the needy and deserving students.
To Institute prizes and awards for outstanding project work, research papers or other professional activity by the students of the Institute; also to suitably recognize outstanding social and community service by the Alumni and the students.
To undertake to organize activities of a civic or charitable nature as also to increase public awareness of the role of technology in value addition in the economic and social development of the nation.
To invest and deal with the funds and moneys of the Association.
To take advantage of developing technologies like the internet in achieving the aims and objects of the Association.
Arrange get together of the alumni and social/cultural functions of the alumni.
Raise various endowment funds and award stipends out of it to the deserving students on need-cum-merit basis.
Establish a link with the VCON alumni and enroll them as members

OBJECTIVES OF ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

To foster more extended relationship between present student and staff and the others associated with the Association.
To provide continuing education enrichment experience for alumni.
To provide for the Alumni platform to connect to University and to assist recent graduates and current students in shaping their career.
To promote the relationship and better understanding among Alumni, current students and faculty of all the departments.
To participate in activities contributing to improvement of infrastructure and academic activities of the VCON.
To institute prizes and awards to the deserving merit students of the University.
To hold periodical meetings at local level at college and batch level.
To raise funds for promotion of objectives of the Association.
To keep well informed about modern trends in the nursing profession.
To continue the college friendship through Alumni network.
To help individual members of the Association.
To upgrade the professional standards and status of the nursing.
To enlighten the public regarding the nursing profession through services.
To do all other things incidental or conductive to the attainment of the above objects.
To represent and participate in the conferences, seminars, cultural and sports activities orgainsed by the Management Of VCON.
To publish or assist in the publication of The VCON ALUMNI ASSOCIATION newsletter, books and /or journals by members of The VCON ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
To make bylaws, rules and regulations of VCON Alumni Association and to amend, to change or add to the same as and when necessary.
Provide leadership in support of higher education and alumni association
Provide social and educational opportunities for alumni

BYLAWS OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

WHEREAS the mission of the Association shall be to build a lifelong relationship between the VCN and its alumni

AND WHEREAS the Values of the Association shall be

To foster the students’ seamless entry into the Alumni Association
To communicate with alumni and friends
To add significant value to lives of students and alumni to foster mutually beneficial support systems amongst alumni
To create and maintain a physical presence for the Alumni Association
To assist the college in achieving levels of excellence in academic, corporate and government efforts.
To promote pride and prestige of identity.
To build an alumni chapter organization in India and internationally

AND WHEREAS the Responsibilities of the Association shall be:

To raise and disburse funds on behalf of alumni
