The SNA Strives hard for the upliftment of the students through professional, educational, curriculum extra curricular activities.

ANTI RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAMME
As per the mail communication received from The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University we have conducted the Ragging Awareness Programme for the Nursing Students on 14.08.2024. The session started with a prayer song and welcome address given by Sneka P V I-year B.Sc., (N) followed by special address given by chief guest Mrs. T. Deepa, Inspector of Police, Tiruchengode Rural Police Station regarding Anti ragging awareness programme.
She explained about definition of ragging, its related punishments and Act of anti ragging. We have conducted competitions on 12.08.2024 among students regarding Ragging Awareness such as Essay Writing (English & Tamil), Poster Presentation, Slogan and Speech (English & Tamil). I-year B.Sc., (N), DGNM & ANM were participated . The event is intended to make the students aware of the anti ragging rules and make a pledge to not get involved in any kind of ragging activity. All promised that they won’t indulge in ragging or any other form of violent behaviour and will contribute in making Vivekanandha College of Nursing as "Ragging Free" campus. Finally prize distribution by Chief Guest those who are won the competition of Essay Writing, Poster Presentation, Slogan and Speech.
By raising awareness about the legal, institutional, and policy aspects of ragging prevention, the session contributed to fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and responsibility within the campus community.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Meghan Mohan I-Year B.Sc.,(N). followed by the national anthem.
Indian Organ Donation Day Awareness Rally
Vivekanandha College of Nursing and Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital Conducted Indian Organ Donation Day Awareness Rally on 30.07.2024 at Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital. IV year B.Sc.(N)&II DGNM students total (100 No’s) along with 4 Nursing Tutors [Mrs.P.Punitha M.Sc.(N), Mrs.V.Bharathi M.Sc(N), Mrs.R.Nandhini, B.Sc.,(N), Ms.Deepthi, B.Sc.(N)] were participated in this Rally. The Rally was conducted from JDHS office, Namakkal Bus stand from 9.00 am to 10.30 am around 200 members participated in the rally headed by Dr.R.Suman, M.Vsc, District Revenue Officer, Dr.K.Santha Arulmozhi, MBBS, M.D., Dean, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Namakkal. Other staff of Govt. Medical College Hospital, Namakkal also participated in this Rally. An awareness had been created about Organ Donation to save human life and also explicited the value of human life.
Around 500 people got awareness by the rally & they understood about organ donation and it’s importance.
International Day Against Drug Abuse 2024
Vivekanandha College of Nursing have conducted International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking Programme at GOVT. Hr. Sec. School, Manickampalayam. The beginning of the programme was started with Tamilthai Vazhthu. The welcome address was given by Mrs.Manisha.A, II Year M.Sc.,(N) Student. The programme Organized by Mrs.V.Chitra, Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Vivekanandha College of Nursing. The chief Guest Mr.K.Senthilkumar, Headmaster, GOVT. Hr. Sec. School, Manickampalayam, started this programme. The objectives of the programme was to create awareness among students regarding Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking and teacher – led school based prevention programme can help students to recognize negative consequences associated with the Alcohol and Drug use. Ms.Jenitha.J, I Year M.Sc.,(N) Student explain regarding prevention of Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking and also about theme “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention”. Our III B.Sc.(N) students given Psychodrama to 11th & 12th (No’s 80) students in Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Manickampalayam.
80 students participated and benefited by the Programme. in the Drug Abuse pledge. This was a great opportunity for the I M.Sc., (N), II M.Sc.,(N), III B.Sc.,(N), students. III B.Sc.,(N) to initiate Psychodrama for 11th & 12th students in Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Manickampalayam.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
We Vivekanandha College of Nursing have conducted international yoga day programme at VCN-Seminar Hall. All our M.Sc.,(N) I year students, III year B.Sc.,(N) (40) students are actively participated in the yoga program. The beginning of the programme was started with Tamilthai Vazhthu. The welcome address was given by Ms.J.Jenitha, I Year M.Sc.,(N) Student, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Vivekanandha College of Nursing. The programme Organized by Mrs.V.Chitra, Assistant Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Vivekanandha College of Nursing. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practiced & performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously. III Year B.Sc.,(N) students were taught the importance of Yoga in their life & how to maintain the harmony between body and mind. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures and promised to introduce this activity in their daily lives to the All Faculties and II Year DGNM Students. International Yoga Day celebrations ended with a grant success under the supervision of the Head of the department. The function ended with a vote of thanks by K.Karthika, III Year B.Sc.,(N), Vivekanandha College of Nursing Elayampalayam.
Around 110 participated in the program and they followed Yoga activities. This was a great opportunity for the Faculty & I M.Sc.,(N), II M.Sc.,(N), III B.Sc.,(N), II Year DGNM students. III B.Sc.,(N) yoga team to initiate yoga activities for II Year DGNM students and faculties of Vivekanandha College of Nursing Elayampalayam.
INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY
International Nurses Day was celebrated by Vivekanandha College of Nursing on 13.05.2024. The Theme was “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care”. The programme was inaugurated by igniting the Holy lamp by the dignitaries. Welcome address was given by Mrs.V.Gayathri M.Sc.,(N).,Assistant Professor. Presidential address was given by ‘VIDHYA RATHNA’ PROF. DR.M.KARUNANITHI, B.Pharm, M.S, Ph.D., D.Litt., Chairman and Secretary, Vivekanandha Educational Institutions & Hospitals. Chief Guest address was given by Mr.E.Sundara Bharathi, Senior Nursing Officer, JIPMER Hospital, Puducherry. He shared his experience with the students. He insisted the students to develop their Communication, Knowledge and skill on applying the knowledge and he explained the scope & availability of opportunities in the field of nursing.

Mrs.Jothi, OT incharge, Vivekanandha Medical Care Hospital was appreciated for her ‘‘Long Standing Nursing Service at VMCH” by honourable Chairman and Secretary and the Chief Guest. Alumni feedback & Pivotal role of nurse practitioner was telecasted through videography. Students were represented as Prominent Nurses like Florence Nightingale, Callista Roy, Dorothea Orem, Imogene King, Virginia Henderson, Linda Richard, Betty Neuman, Anna Caroline Maxwell, Loretta C Ford, Nola J Pender, Clara Borton, Dorothea Johnson and exhibited their theories. Cultural events have been conducted. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners and participants. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.V.Chitra, Assistant Professor, Vivekanandha College of Nursing.
All the nursing students, Staff nurses of VMCH & SVMCH, Nursing faculty participated in the programme and celebrated the International nurses’ day with enthusiasm and felt proud to be blessed as a registered nurse.

MY HEALTH, MY RIGHT
The World Health day awareness programme was conducted by Vivekanandha College of Nursing & SVMCH & RI on 05.04.2024 at 10.30am. The theme of the day was “MY HEALTH, MY RIGHT”.
The main aim was to create awareness among patients about health maintanance in our community.
Vivekanandha College of Nursing and Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, adjoined with Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute celebrated World Health Day on 05.04.2024 at SVMCH & RI, Unjanai, Elayampalayam, Tiruchengode, Namakkal. The programme was headed by Professor Dr.K.PRAGASAM.,MS.,Ortho.,D.sc.,(Hons)., Medical Director, SVMCH & RI and Prof. Dr.S.BALASUBRAMANIYAN, M.S., Dean, SVMCH & RI, addressed on prevention of diseases. In this event Nursing Superintendent, Staff Nurses, Students and patients were participated. The welcome address and introduction was given by II-B.Sc.,(N) student. After the inaugural session, various posters were displayed at Female medical ward of the SVMCH & RI on life style modification, quality health services, education and information, safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition quality housing, decent working, environmental conditions and freedom from discrimination. The event was coordinated by Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi., M.Sc.,(N)., Ph.D., Principal, VCN, Mrs.Priya.C.,M.Sc (N)., Associate Professor, Mrs. Sindhuja.V.,M.Sc.,(N)., and Ms.Jeevitha.S.,B.Sc.,(N)., Medical Surgical Nursing Dept, VCN. Vote of thanks was given by II-B.Sc.,(N) student.
Through this programme our students as well as patients from areas gained knowledge regarding life style modification, quality health services, education and information, safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition quality housing, decent working, environmental conditions and freedom from discrimination. During this awareness programme the patients’ doubts have been clarified by nursing students. A total of 50 participants were attended the programme.
WORLD WATER DAY -2024
THEME: “LEVERAGING WATER FOR PEACE ”
World water day was celebrated by Environmental Committee on 22.03.2024 at VCN Seminar Hall. Our Vivekanandha College of Nursing, B.Sc.,(N) students are participated in this Programme. The programme was headed by Principal Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc(N)., Ph.D(N). Mrs.C.Priya,.M.Sc.,(N) Associate Professor of Vivekanandha College of Nursing were the judges for Short Film contest. The Pragramme started by welcome speech, video about 10 Significance of water day and Short Film contest was conducted on the topic of "Save Water" and This year World water day theme of “LEVERAGING WATER FOR PEACE”. Totally 10 students were participated in Short Film contest from I,II,III and IV year B.Sc.,(N) students. I Prize won by P.Mousika III B.Sc(N) student, II Prize won by M.Kamatchi & K.Sandhiya II B.Sc(N) students , III Prize won by Chanthirika IV B.Sc(N) student . This program was organized by Ms.N.Prageetha.,M.Sc.,(N). Finally vote of thanks given by III year B.Sc.,(N) student.

WOMENS’S DAY CELEBRATION - 2024
Women’s day 2024 was celebrated by Vivekanandha College of Nursing students on 08.03.2024. The Programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The programme was started with Tamilthai Vazhthu by B.Sc.,(N) Ist year students. Welcome address was given by Ms.Devanandha Ajith, IInd Year B.Sc.,(Nursing). Felicitation was given by Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc(N)., Ph.D, Principal, Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam Prof.Dr.M.Geetha, M.Sc., Ph.D(N), Vice Principal, Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. Vote of thanks was given by Ms.Akhildisoni IInd Year B.Sc.,(Nursing). The programme was ended with National Antham by B.Sc.,(N) Ist year.
Students were actively participated in the Cultural Events (Dance, Singing & Speech).
All the nursing students, nursing faculty participated in the Programme and celebrated the Women’s Day 2024 with enthusiasm.
WORLD CANCER DAY-2024
The World cancer day awareness programme was conducted by Vivekanandha College of Nursing & SVMCH & RI on 08.02.2024 at 10.30am. The theme of the day was “CLOSE THE CARE GAP”.
The main aim was to create awareness among patients about control and prevention of Cancer in our community.
Vivekanandha College of Nursing and Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, adjoined with Swamy Vivekanandha Medical College Hospital and Research Institute celebrated World Cancer Day on 08.02.2024 at SVMCH & RI, Unjanai, Elayampalayam, Tiruchengode, Namakkal. The programme was headed by Professor Dr.K.PRAGASAM.,MS.,Ortho.,D.sc.,(Hons)., Medical Director, SVMCH & RI and Prof. Dr.S.BALASUBRAMANIYAN, M.S., Dean, SVMCH & RI, addressed on oral cancer and its prevention. On account of this programme the Cancer Awareness Rally was started from Vivekanandha Educational Institutions to SVMCH & RI. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.SARAVANA KUMAR M.S.,D.N.B,FIAGES, Endocrinologist, General & Laparoscopic Surgeon; he was given brief speech about cancer, and its causes, early signs and preventive measures. In this event the Doctors, Nursing Superintendent, Staff Nurses, Students and patients were participated. The welcome address and introduction was given by I and II-B.Sc.,(N) students. After the inaugural session, various posters were displayed at OPD of the SVMCH & RI on causes; breast self examination, various types of cancer and measures to follow to prevent the occurrence. The event was coordinated by Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi., M.Sc.,(N)., Ph.D., Principal, VCN, Mrs.Priya.C.,M.Sc (N)., Associate Professor, Mrs.Gayathri.,M.Sc .,(N), Ms.Yamuna.G.,B.Sc.,(N)., and Mrs.Sumithra.G.,B.Sc.,(N)., Medical Surgical Nursing Dept, VCN. Vote of thanks was given by II-B.Sc.,(N) students.
Through this programme our students as well as patients from areas gained knowledge regarding cancer and causes, warning signs and how to identify the symptoms, medical & surgical managements, healthy habits and preventive aspects to lead stable and long life. During this awareness programme the patients’ doubts have been clarified by doctors and nursing students. A total of 150 participants were attended the programme.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION 2024
Vivekanandha College of Nursing, NSS and SNA unit celebrated 75th Republic Day on 26.01.2024 at 8.00am. Principal Dr.M.Sumathi, Vice-Principal Dr.M.Geetha, Hod’s, Staff and Students were Participated in Republic Day Celebration. The student representative gave the welcome address. The March Past parade was done by the students of Vivekanandha College of Nursing. The flag hosting was done. Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc(N), Ph.D(N), Principal Vivekanandha College of Nursing, given a speech regarding theme of “Viksit Bharat and “Bharat: Loktantra ki Matruka” & commemorated the adoption of the Constitution of India.
All the Nursing Students, Nursing Faculty participated in the programme and celebrated the 75th Republic Day with grandeur enthusiasm and they felt proud to celebrate 75th Republic Day.

Lamp Lighting Ceremony was conducted for the 33rd batch of B.Sc.(N), DGNM & 8th batch of ANM students of Vivekanandha College of Nursing (VCN), Elayampalayam, Tiruchengode, on 11.01.2024 in VEI Auditorium at 10.30 am.

Invocation was done by the Ist Year B.Sc.(N), DGNM & ANM students. The Dignitaries lighted the Holy Lamp and started the programme. On this great occasion Mrs.A.Sujatha, M.Sc.(N), Ph.D, Professor delivered the welcome speech.
CHIEF GUEST ADDRESS
The chief Guest of the Programme was Dr.S.Vijayalakshmi,RNRM., Ph.D(N)., M.A(Socio).,Ph.D(ACU)., TNAI Secretary - Tamilnadu Branch & Principal of Vignesh Nursing College, Tiruvannamalai. She delivered a Special address to the Fresher’s regarding nursing profession & Importance of Nobility & Holistic care.
PLEDGE TAKING CEREMONY
A total of 206 students of Ist Year B.Sc.(N), DGNM & ANM received the light from dignitaries. The students led into the Profession with their lamps lit. The Principal recited the Florence nightingale pledge and the students recapitulated it, committed themselves to the noble Profession. Afterwards the holy lamp song was sung by all the Ist Year B.Sc.(N), DGNM & ANM students.

Felicitation address have been given by Mr.M.Chokkalingam, Chief Executive, Vivekanandha Educational Institutions, Dr.Capt.S.Gokulanathan, Director, Dental & Paramedical courses, Principal & Vice Principal, about Nursing Profession and the importance of dedicated nursing services.

A video regarding Vivekanandha College of Nursing, & its activities was projected to the parents. The students were participated in the cultural events such as Dance programme, Skit regarding Florence Nightingale.

Vivekanandha College of Nursing, SNA unit celebrated Christmas and New year -2024 on 23.12.2023 at 10.00am. Dr.G.Murugananthan, M.Pharm, Ph.D, Principal, Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy, Vivekanandha College of Nursing Principal Dr.M.Sumathi, Vice Principal Dr.M.Geetha, HOD’s, Faculty and Students were participated in Christmas and New year 2024 celebration. Ms.Thilagavathi.G 3rd year B.Sc.(N) delivered the welcome address. The programme was started with candle lighting Dr.G.Murugananthan, M.Pharm, Ph.D, Principal, Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy he given the felicitation address regarding this “unity can be achieved only through cleansing our heart of prejudices and cleansing our morals through equality’’. Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc.(N), Ph.D(N) given the message about value of discipline that “discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment that’s promote our professional growth” Prof.Dr.M.Geetha, M.Sc.(N), Ph.D(N) delivered message regards “Mistakes are unavoidable but we must follow the self rules like forgot and forgive with following of rightness and willing to help others”. Cake cutting done by dignitaries. Santa claus entered after skit performance by the students. New year 2024 pledge taken by all the students and faculty. Students were actively participated in the various cultural program and carol. The program ended at 1.00pm
WORLD DIABETES DAY-2023 AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The world diabetes day was organized by Vivekanandha College of Nursing. on 16.11.2023 at 10.30am in SVMCH & RI. The theme of the day was “ACCESS OF DIABETES CARE”.
The main aim was to create awareness among patients about control and prevention of Diabetes mellitus in our community.The programme started with the welcome address by II-BSC(N) student of Vivekanandha College of Nursing. Health education was given to create awareness on control and prevention of diabetes with different posters, flashcards. They explained about causes, signs and symptoms, lab investigation, detail about preventive aspect to of DM.
Around 50 patients attended the program .Their doubts were clarified. Programme ended with vote of thanks.
WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Vivekanandha College of Nursing Mental Health Nursing Department conducted “WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME” on 10.11.2023 in Institute of Mental Health, Chennai. Mental Health Nursing Department HOD, Staff, students of 3rd year B.Sc.(N), 2nd year P.B.B.Sc.(N) & I year M.Sc.(N) were participated in this programme. Dr.Elango, M.Sc.(N), MBA, Ph.D(N), HOD, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Institute of Mental Health, Chennai presided over the function. The Student representative has given welcome address. The objectives of the programme was to create awareness among people regarding cause, signs and psychopathology symptoms, Screening, Counseling Daily activities & Prevention of Mental illness through psychodrama. Mrs.A.Rajalakshmi, Nursing Superintendent - Grade II, Institute of Mental Health, Chennai spoke regarding the importance of world Mental health day and also about the theme “MENTAL HEALTH IS A UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHT”. Mrs.Ruba Rani.A, Nursing Superintendent - Grade II, Institute of Mental Health, Chennai she highlighted the supportive schemes and services available for Mentally ill people. The program was coordinated by Ms.D.Jesintha, B.Sc.(N), Nursing Tutor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam, Tiruchengode, Namakkal(Dt).
Around 50 people participated in the program and got awareness about various aspects of Mental Illness.
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION 2023
Vivekanandha College of Nursing, SNA unit celebrated Teachers day on 05.09.2023 at 2.00pm. Principal Dr.M.Sumathi, Vice Principal Dr.M.Geetha, Hod’s, Faculty and Students were participated in Teachers day Celebration. Ms.Kavinya 3rd year B.Sc.(N) delivered the welcome address. Felicitation was given by Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi., M.Sc.(N), Ph.D(N) & Prof.Dr.M.Geetha, M.Sc.(N), Ph.D(N). I year B.Sc.(N) student Ms.M.Keerthana gave a speech regarding Teacher’s day. A creative video regarding roles of Principal, Vice Principal & Faculty in growth of Vivekanandha College of Nursing was displayed by the students. Various games were conducted for the faculty (Stick falling, Musical Chair, Balloon and Cup) in which faculty were actively participated. The group dance was performed by the students. Prizes were distributed for the winners. Ms.Thirisha.M from IIIrd B.Sc(N) delivered the vote of thanks. The program ended at 4.00pm.
ONAM CELEBRATION 2023
Vivekanandha College of Nursing, SNA unit celebrated ONAM celebration on 02.09.2023 at 3.00pm. “Vidhya Rathna” Prof.Dr.M.KARUNANITHI, B.Pharm., M.S., Ph.D., D.Litt., was the chief guest of the programme. All the faculty and students of Vivekanandha College of Nursing Participated in the programme. Ms.Jinitta K Saji from 3rd B.Sc.(N) gave the welcome address. Felicitation was given by Prof. Dr.S. Nagalakshmi MDS, Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc.(N),Ph.D.,(N), and Prof.Dr.M.Geetha, M.Sc.(N) Ph.D.,(N). 3rd year B.Sc.(N) students narrated the story of Mahabali by dramatization. This was followed by the Onam song sung by students. Games were conducted to the students, (Sundharikku Pottu Vaithal, Water Filling, Biscuit Biting, Musical Chair & Lemon on the spoon) in which the students were actively participated. The group dance was performed by the students. Prizes were distributed for the winners of cultural games. Sweets were distributed to the students. Ms.Gowri.S from 2nd year B.Sc.(N) delivered the vote of thanks. The program ended at 5.30pm.
Independence Day Celebration 2023
Vivekanandha College of Nursing, NSS and SNA unit celebrated 77th Independence Day on 15.08.2023 at 8.00am. Principal Dr.M.Sumathi, VicePrincipal Dr.M.Geetha, Hod’s, Staff and Students were Participated in Independence Day Celebration. The student representative gave the welcome address. The March Past parade was done by the students of Vivekanandha College of Nursing. The flag hosting was done. Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc(N), Ph.D(N), Principal Vivekanandha College of Nursing, given a speech regarding theme of “Nation First, Always First,” & Freedom Fighters. The Competitions (Essay Writing, Singing, Rangoli, Cultural) were conducted for the students on theme of “MAHAKAVI BHARATHIYAR & THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS” from 11.08.2023 to 15.08.2023.
All the Nursing Students, Nursing Faculty participated in the programme and celebrated the 77th Independence Day with patriotism and they felt proud to celebrate 77th Independence Day.

International Nurses day was celebrated by Vivekanandha College of Nursing on 12.05.2022. The theme was nurses a voice to lead invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health. The programme was inaugurated by igniting the Holy lamp by the dignitaries. Welcome address was given by Mrs.P.Indira M.Sc(N)., Felicitation was given by Prof.Dr.M.Sumathi, M.Sc.,Ph.D(N), Principal Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam, and Prof. Dr. M. Geetha M. Sc., Ph. D(N) Vice Principal, Vivekanandha College of Nursing.
Honouring the ‘‘Best clinical nurse of VMCH-2022" was awarded by Vivekanadha College of Nursing to Ms.Yogarasi staff nurse of VMCH. Prof.Dr.S.K.Rajkumar, M.PT, Ph.D, Principal, Allied health sciences & Swamy vivekanandha physiotherapy college. has given special address to the faculty, nurse and students about nurses day and nursing profession.
A debate on "current challenge in nursing strengthens or weakens the nurse" was conducted for the students and the judge was Prof.Dr.S.K.Rajkumar.
Cultural events has been conducted and prizes were distributed for the winners.
COVID APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR
The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University invited all the affiliated institution must follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour; we have created awareness regarding Covid Appropriate Behaviour among all Nursing students by conducting a small group meeting and discussion. Further, we explained about the Covid Appropriate Behaviour to the school students of Vivekanandha VidhyaBhavan Matriculation School in Elayampalayam.
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION
In India, 5th September is memorable as Teachers’ Day as a mark of homage to the involvement made by teachers to the civilization. 5th September is birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, a well known diplomat, visionary, statesman, scholar, President of the and above all a Perfect Teacher. In 1962, when Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India, he was approached with a request of celebrating his birthday. He said, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if this day is observed as Teacher’s Day”. This showed his love for the teaching profession.
Teachers’ day is celebrated with great zest in many part of the world. This day is dedicated to the teachers with the sense of respect, appreciation, encouragement and support for their fidelity to their students. The Teachers’ Day was celebrated by the students of B. Sc Nursing and GNM at Seminar Hall on 6th September to utter their gratefulness for the enormous contribution put forth by their teachers towards their development.
Students decorated the college campus with the decorative items on the eve of teacher’s day and the faculties were welcomed warmly. Faculties actively participated in the various events conducted by the students and given a gift as a token of gratitude to show the acknowledgement, wishing them a Happy Teachers Day. The Principal Dr. N. Sheelavathi RNRM., PhD., and Vice Principal Dr. M. Geetha. RNRM., PhD., were presided the function. The event was concluded by vote of thanks given by M. Sc students. The program was organized by YRC and SNA members.
