Nursing education& research department of VNCW Organized a national level webinar on 24.01.22 for Faculty and students through Virtual mode Prof.Ms.sasikalavathi arunachalam ,Principal Saheed udham singh College of Nursing,Haryana had been a guest speaker and presented Sampling techniques in research.
LAMP LIGHING & OATH TAKING CEREMONY
The lamp lighting ceremony held as a tribute to Florence Nightingale is an auspicious occation in every nurses life. The budding nurses, adorned in their uniforms for the first time, formally marks the students entry into the nursing profession
The lamp lighting and Oath taking ceremony of the 14 th batch of B.SC Nursing and 12 th batch of GNM,4TH Batch ANM Students of Vivekanandha nursing college for women was held on 23rd January 2022,vncw auditorium.
The programme commenced with a prayer song. MS.Vasanthaladevi , Lecturer department of community health nursing welcomed the gathering .The dignitaries on the dais lighted the lamp and inaugurated the ceremony.
As a sign of honor and respect to the pioneer of nursing profession, the dignitaries garlanded the portrait of Florence Nightingale, The lady with the lamp. The dignitaries along with faculty lit the lamps of nursing students which symbolizes wisdom, knowledge and compassion followed by recitation of oath pledging themselves to uphold the duties as a professional nurse.
The vice principal Prof.Mrs.G.thangamani ,addressed the every nurse should have the basic qualities like have a right attitude and be disciplined as student, communication skills,Emotional stability, Based on the changing trends and technology, Nurses should update their knowledge and skills. The significance of patient safety in the profession.
The Principal Dr M.Alamelu ,congradulated new budding nurses and motivated to students the various important factors that a student nurse need to inculcate in her/his profession. emphasised the importance of commitment in the profession and urged the students to imbibe technology into their practice on developing curiosity, humility and passion for caring for the patient and wished them good luck as they enter nursing profession.
Mrs. Kavitha Assistant. Professor delivered vote of thanks. The formal programme ended with National Anthem.

NUTRITION WEEK CELEBRATION
In this year “NUTRI – NURSE” club activity was held on 01.12.2021 in nutrition lab [ VNCW]. “NUTRITION ALPHABETS” Is framed to create POSTER PRESENTATION and it’s essentially through the life among the students.
Especially first year b.sc nursing and first year diploma nursing students totally 150 students are participated. And 60 students are present poster. They have presented their models, charts and food models.

Prof.Mrs.M.Geetha, Principal has highlighted the ways to promote health and the significance the world health day in presidential address. Quiz programme was conducted by Mrs. G. Thangamani, Asso. Professor on diabetes 5mellitus. The students had participated in this quiz with enthusiastically. Our final B.Sc Nursing students have explained the preventive and management of diabetes mellitus and strategies to beat diabetes by with a slide show presentation.

We have celebrated world tuberculosis day in our college. With the theme of stop tuberculosis Prof.Mrs.Geetha, Principal has highlighted the ways to promote health and the significance the world tuberculosis day in her presidential address. The student has participated in the Roll play and third year B.Sc Nursing students have explained about tuberculosis and its management & the strategies to stop tuberculosis by with a slide show presentation.

Our III year B.Sc Nursing & II year GNM have conducted a rally about the prevention of female feticide. The rally was inaugurated by Mrs.Latha, the chief medical officer of Tiruchengode GH. The rally started from thiruchengode GH and covered the area like main street and bus stand.

We have celebrated international women’s day on march 8th regarding the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. The special address was given by the Prof.Mrs.M.Geetha, the principal of Vivekanandha Nursing College for Women. Sankari. Our students organized the programme, skit speech about the gender parity.

On the occasion of world hepatitis day 2015, youth red cross members of our Nursing college had conducted awareness rally & created the awareness regarding personal hygiene, safe blood transfusion, proper hand washing technique, avoidance of alcohol, maintenance of environmental hygiene methods.
