Sexual Harassment and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Introduction

Sexual harassment violates fundamental rights to equality, dignity, and a safe environment. As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the institution has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent and address such issues.

Objectives

Prevent sexual harassment on campus and workplace
Provide a safe and secure environment for women
Create awareness about legal rights and protections
Ensure fair and timely grievance redressal
Promote gender equality and mutual respect

Functions

Receive and investigate complaints
Conduct confidential and impartial inquiries
Recommend actions based on findings
Organize awareness and training programmes
Ensure compliance with statutory norms

Duties

Maintain confidentiality
Support and protect the aggrieved person
Ensure fair inquiry procedures
Submit annual reports
Monitor preventive measures

Tenure

Members of the committee serve for a period of three years as per the Act.
