Admission - Eligibility
B.Sc., Nursing
The Minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of
- Higher Secondary school certificate examination (12 years course)
- Senior school certificate examination (10+2), pre-degree examination (10 +2)
- An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board, or University with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE). For SC/ST candidates 40% aggregate marks
- Admission of married candidates are allowed
- Candidates should be medically fit
M.Sc., Nursing
- The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of; B.Sc., Nursing / B.Sc., Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc., Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks studied in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
- The candidate should be Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any state Nursing Registration Council
- Minimum one Year of work experience after Basic B.Sc., Nursing
- The candidate should register their provisional degree in the Tamil Nadu Nurses & Midwives Council, Chennai. The work experience will be calculated from the date of registration received from the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai
- In case of Non - Tamil Nadu candidates, they must register in the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai
- Candidates should be medically fit
P.B.B.Sc., Nursing
- Should have qualified in Diploma in Nursing and be a registered Nurse and Mid-wife in the Tamilnadu Nursing Council or any other State Nursing Council accepted by the authority of this University.
- Obtained a certificate in General nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
- Candidates should be medically fit
Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM)
Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar. The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of
- Pass in +2 with any subject, the percentage of marks is 40% as prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council
- Those who have cleared 10 +2 Vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council
- ANM training i.e. 10 +1 ½ years training should also have passed +2 its equivalent examination
- In addition to the above, admission procedure can be laid down by concerned State Nursing Council / Nursing examination Boards (S.I.B.E, M.I.B.E, C.M.A.I)
- Admission of married candidates are allowed
- Candidates should be medically fit
ANM
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
- Only Female candidates are eligible
- The minimum educational requirements shall be 10 + 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY passing out from recognized Board.
- Student shall be medically fit.
- Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School.
- Student shall be admitted once in a year.
