Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan

The journal club presentation on “Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan” topic was successfully conducted by Community Health Nursing Department on 28.03.2024 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation by Ms.G.Sathya, M.Sc.,(N), Nursing Tutor. She explained about the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan National Health Programme, It has been introduced to provide fixed day quality antenatal care services to women in their 2nd/3rd trimesters of pregnancy on the 9th day of every month. This Programme aims to improve the quality and coverage of Antenatal Care (ANC) including diagnostics and counseling services as part of the Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) Strategy. This includes ensuring provision of services such as all applicable diagnostic services,Screening for the applicable clinical conditions,Appropriate management of any existing clinical condition like Anemia,Pregnancy induced hypertension, Gestational Diabetes etc and Proper counseling services and Proper documentation of services rendered.

COLLODION BABY

The journal club presentation on “Coco Wound Dressing” topic was successfully conducted by Medical Surgical Nursing Department on 26.02.2024 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation by Ms.N.Prageetha M.Sc.,(N), Nursing Tutor. She explained about the Coco Wound Dressing which is made from coconut water through bio cellulose technology. There are three types such as Coco Heal Ag+ anti-bacterial gel spray, Coco Heal Ag+ and Coco Heal. It can be used by those suffering from ,Diabetic foot ulcer, bedsores, burns and abrasions. Coco heal is indicated for use on dry infected and non-infected wounds.

The journal club presentation on “Collodion Baby” topic was successfully conducted by Department of Child Health Nursing on 31.01.2024 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. The presentation was done by Mrs.V.Bharathi,M.Sc.,(N), Nursing Tutor. VCN faculty and M.Sc., Nursing students have attended the presentation. She explained about Introduction, Definition, Causes, Clinical Manifestations, Diagnostic Evaluation, Complications, Life expectancy & Management of collodion Baby.

The journal club presentation on “Condyloma Acuminata in Pregnancy” topic was successfully conducted by Department of Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing on 26.12.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. The presentation was done by Mrs.P.Punitha M.Sc.,(N), Assistant Professor. VCN faculty and M.sc., Nursing students have attended the presentation. She explained about Introduction, Definition, Epidemiology, Clinical Presentation, Diagnostic Evaluation, Complications in the offspring and Treatment was discussed in this Session.

MENSTRUAL BLOOD BANKING

The journal club presentation on “Menstrual blood banking ” topic was successfully conducted by Department of Obstetrics and gynaecological nursing on 02.12.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. The presenter was Mrs.A.Sujatha, M.Sc.,(N), Ph.D(N), HOD, Department of Obstetrics and gynaecological Nursing. She explained about menstrual blood banking which helps to preserve vital stem cells in the menstrual blood and its scope in the future. Definition, sources of stem cells, menstrual stem cells, menstrual stem cell banking, collection and storage, advantages, scope and future, stem cell organizations was discussed in this Session. The main Objective of this class is to help the learners to learn about the discovery of stem cells in the menstrual blood which has given a new meaning to menstruation for women from monthly curse to monthly boon. All faculty and M.Sc.Nursing students have attended the presentation.

AMAZING EFFECTIVENESS OF FLAX SEEDS IN THE TREATMENT OF PCOS

The journal club presentation on “Amazing Effectiveness of Flax Seeds in the Treatment of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” topic was successfully conducted by Department of Community Health Nursing on 28.10.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. The presenter was Mrs.S.Nasira, M.Sc.,(N), PhD(N), HOD, Department of Community Health Nursing. She explained about importance and effectiveness of flax seeds, which helps in treating female with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Definition, Types, Symptoms, Treatment, Warning signs and Management of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome was discussed in this Session. The main Objective of this class is to help the learners to learn about healthy way of use of Flax seeds. All faculty and M.Sc., Nursing students have attended the presentation.

DIGEORGE SYNDROME

The journal club presentation on “DIGEORGE SYNDROME” topic was successfully conducted by Ms.Pramiladevi.A, B.Sc.,(Nursing), Community health Nursing Department on 23.09.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc., Nursing students have attended the presentation. She explained about the digeorge syndrome which is refers to immunodeficiency disease associated with susceptibility to infectious due to poor “T” Cell production and function. Definition, causes, signs & Symptoms, diagnostic evaluation and Treatment of digeorge syndrome was discussed in this Session. The Main Objective of this class is to help the learners to learn about chromosomal abnormalities of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.

ADULT IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULE

The Journal Club Presentation on “Adult Immunization Schedule” was successfully conducted by Medical Surgical Nursing Department on 25.08.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc. Nursing students have attended the presentation and Mrs. Sumithra G was the presenter. She explained about the Adult Immunization Schedule. Vaccines help our body to create protective antibodies-proteins which help fighting infections. By getting vaccinated, people can protect themself and also avoid spreading preventable diseases to other people in their community.

Rogi Kalyan Samiti

The journal club presentation on “Rogi Kalian Samiti” topic was successfully conducted by Community Health Nursing Department on 26.07.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation and Ms.Abisha A was the presenter. She explained about the Rogi Kalian Samiti which is concepts of Rogi Kalian Samiti ,Frame work of Rogi Kalian Samiti .It was very useful to provide care to the hospitalized patients and also identify the amendents .

TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation)

The journal club presentation on “Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation” topic was successfully conducted by Nursing Foundation Department on 17.06.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation and Ms.Esakkiammal M was the presenter. She explained about the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation which is alternate procedure for Aortic valve replacement. Commonly used for elderly who is risk for open heart surgery suffered from Aortic Stenosis. The main advantage of the procedure is Minimally invasive, Less pain, and Shorter hospital stay. The validity of the valve is 5 – 6 years after the procedure.

INTERNET ADDICTION DISORDER

The journal club presentation on “Internet Addiction Disorder” topic was successfully conducted by Mrs.Anitha.M, M.Sc(N), Nursing Foundation Department on 29.04.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation. She explained about the Internet Addiction Disorder which is refers to excessive computer use which interferes with daily life. Definition, Types, Symptoms, Treatment, Warning signs and Management of Internet Addiction was discussed in this Session. The Main Objective of this class is to help the learners to learn about healthy way of using Internet.

Aquapheresis

The journal club presentation on “Aquapheresis” topic was successfully conducted by Nursing Foundation Department on 25.03.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation and Mrs. N. Karthikadevi was the presenter. She explained about the Aquapheresis treatment which is a medical technology used to remove excessive salt and water from the body. This device mechanically withdraws blood through a catheter and passes it through a haemofilter, which removes excess sodium and water, restoring fluid balance. The main objective of this procedure is to maintain euvolemia using ultrafiltration method in patients with fluid overload, Congestive Cardiac Failure, Liver Cirrhosis.

Rashtria Kishor Swasthya Karyakaram

The journal club presentation on “RASHTRIA KISHOR SWASTHYA KARYAKARAM” topic was successfully conducted by Community Health Nursing Department on 25.02.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. All faculty and M.Sc Nursing students have attended the presentation, and Mrs.P.Pachiyammal was the presenter. She explained about the RASHTRIA KISHOR SWASTHYA KARYAKARAM, which is one of the National Health Mission scheme, and encapsulated a progression toward health aspects of adolescent health care.The objective is to provide the health protection. This Scheme provides Priority to both adolescent girls and boys. The objective of providing health scheme is Improving Nutrition, Enabling sexual and Reproductive Health, Mental health, Preventing injuries, violence, [Gender Based Violence] and Substance misuse. It is a health Scheme and where there is supply of Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation. The aim of the programme is committed at promotion of adolescent health mission across India and would address to the health needs of 243 million adolescents.

AYUSHMAN BHARAT YOJANA

The journal club presentation on ‘AYUSHMAN BHARAT YOJANA” Topic was successfully conducted by Community Health Nursing Department on 28.01.2023 at seminar hall in Vivekanandha college of Nursing Elayampalayam, All faculty and M.sc Nursing students have attended. The presentation was done by Mrs P Sangeetha, she explained about the AYUSHMAN BHARAT YOJANA is a largest health assurance scheme, Which is encapsulated a progression toward health aspects through health and wellness centre (HWCs) at all levels. The objective is to provide the health protection coverage up to 5 lakhs people per year for poor and vulnerable families. This Scheme provides Priority to girl children, women and senior citizens for free treatment available at all public empanelled private hospitals in times of need. The aim of this scheme is to provide holistic health care at all level initiatives like health to wellness centre and national protection scheme.

She explained about the CAPGRAS SYNDROME Introduction, Definition, Etiology, Specific Features, Treatment,Results Review.

All the faculty and M.Sc.,(N) students gained knowledge& awareness regarding thecapgras syndrome is a delusion characterized by the patient's belief that his or her relatives (or close friends) have been replaced by impostors who have a close resemblance to the originals. Our case shows that treatment with olanzapine can lead to a good clinical outcome with a remission of the psychotic symptoms.

Menetrier’s Disease

Infusion of Anti-Fibrotic Vascular Cells to Cure Cirrhosis of Liver

The journal club presentation on Infusion of Anti-Fibrotic Vascular cells to cure Cirrhosis of Liver was successfully conducted by the Medical Surgical Nursing Department on 20.02.2022 at Seminar hall in Vivekanandha College of Nursing, Elayampalayam. She explained about Cirrhosis of Liver and the effectiveness of infusion of vascular cell therapy in curing Cirrhosis of Liver with journal evidence and various research reports.

All the faculty and M.Sc. (N) students updated their knowledge regarding the infusion of endothelial cell therapy in the treatment for Cirrhosis Liver.

Reproductive Maternal New Born Child And Adolescent Health

Journal Club Presentation was successfully conducted in Vivekanandha College of Nursing on 31st January by Community Health Nursing Department. 10 faculty & M.Sc(N) students attended the programme. The Presenter was Mrs. M. Aiswarya B.Sc. (N), Clinical Instructor, VCN. She explained in detail about Reproductive Maternal New Born Child and Adolescent Health.

Faculty updated their knowledge regarding the risk in the pregnancy period and the care taken to the pregnant women.
